Tilt Shift Available on Apple iPhone

Tilt shift photography is a trend first used by architects but recently the fad has been made popular with the availability of special lenses for digital cameras. Tilt Shift is a technique used to make crowds and buildings resemble models and has taken off quickly. Normally to do this you would need a decent digital camera and an expensive lens ( about £1,000), but some clever person has developed an application you can download to your iPhone that will let you do this.
If you have a digital camera you can replicate this ‘miniature’ effect by tilting a camera’s lens relative to the image plane, this gives a larger-than-normal aperture to capture a very shallow depth of field. This technique mans that even taking photos of large buildings you can make them look like a model. You can take an up shot of the Eiffel Tower and make it look like a lego land feature.
Most people who own a digital camera need a tilt shift lens but Michael Krause has developed an application which does the same effect on the iPhone which will inevitably mean the trend takes off even more.
The iPhone has never been known as being the best camera phone with a dated 2 megapixel camera but this new application will get people using the iPhone for their snaps and broaden the Tilt Shift craze to a wider demographic.
The application is available on iTunes for £1.19 a lot cheaper than a normal tilt shift lens which is on average £1000.
