Rollei and Sonic UK Ltd have announced a partnership and to confirm this have released a high quality range of Rollei compact digital cameras.

Rollei are highly respected amongst photographers they were founded in the 1920s, and soon began to epitomize German technology and precision engineering and applied it to camera lenses. The Rolleiflex and Rolleicord series were so advanced for their time that most leading professional photographers used them. Rollei although produced excellent quality lenses they also looked after the design, build quality and innovation combining to make the range of cameras second to none.

Rollei didn’t stop there and in the 1960’s they announced their 35 Series , these were the smallest 35mm cameras ever made and threw them again to the forefront of photographic technology. They combined , features, optical quality and usability increased the compact’s massive popularity; record sales of these cameras reaching over 3 million were sold in the following 30-year production run.

Today Rollei have kept up their reputation and with the help of Sonic have released a range of compacts that still boast that Rollei ‘A Brand ’ stamp . They have released three new model lines, the Compact, Slim and Active. They are all fully loaded with the latest features and have Rollei reliability; they are so confident they have backed themselves up with a 2 year, new camera-change warranty.

Because of the alliance with Sonic UK they have been able to keep their prices down, keeping them competitive with mainstream, cheaper mass produced brands like Pentax, Samsung and Fujifilm.

The Ultra-functional models like the Compactline 80 and the X-8 Compact are retailing at only £59.99 and £69.99 and have not skimped on quality boasting 8.0 megapixels, movie mode, smile/face and shake detection, 3x optical and 4x digital zooms.

The Mid-range models are priced from £79.99 to £109.99 and which is still cheaper than their counterpart top-of-the-range equipment like the XS-10 inTOUCH whichsells for about £139.99.

They also have the all-action X-8 Sports which is crash proof, frost proof, waterproof (up to 10 meters) and has a shock proof price of only £149.99.
