Samsung reveals new camera

Samsung NV100HD

Yesterday Samsung let it slip thatthey are releasing a new 14.7-million-pixel camera called the NV100HD, featuring a ‘28mm’ Schneider Kreuznach lens.

This new smasung camera has started rumours that Samsung will launch a new digital SLR in the autumn to compete against the likes of Canon and Nikon. The belief is that with all the new technology being developed in the slimline point and shoot cameras that have been so successful for Samsung that they are upping their game to appeal to the more professional photographers.
The new compact camera called the NV100HD, is due out in August and will cost around £229. It features a 3in LCD monitor with a the resolution of460,000 dpi. It has integrated a Smart Touch 2.0 screen which eliminates the need for buttons on the back of the camera.
It also sports face recognition software that boasts ISO sensitivity of 3200, plus features such as blink detection and smile mode as part of its Perfect Portrait System. It also includes a Beauty Shot mode which ’smooths out’ skin tone by retouching areas such as facial spots.
It has looked into common problems faced by the average photographer in social situations and resolved them like the Motion Timer mode which detects when motion stops so the shutter won’t go off in a timed group shot before the photographer is in position with the rest of the group.
The touch screen enables the photographer to rotate images and delete them, and the NV100HD has a computer-style ‘recycle bin’ so you can quickly retrieve photos if you have deleted them accidentally.

This looks like a great little camera for people who like to just go out and take good pictures without too much hassle and at £229 it is affordable as well.

Does anyone know if this camera really does have the motion timer mode?

the reason i ask is that samsungs manual and website states that it has motion capture but this appears to be a high speed shutter and hence reduced to 1mp. It does not appear to be used instead of a timer.

If you know then let me know.

Also if you have one then please get in touch as i would love to talk more about it
