Practical Photography

As a photographer and ex model I have experienced life on both sides of the caera, I also know how hard both parts of the industry can be.

There are a lot of young models starting out who come to me for advice and a lot of them have also come to me with stories of photographers who have taken advantage of them.

I was very lucky when I started modelling as I was approached by a reputable modelling agency and they looked after me arranging for test shoots with good professional photographers and put off payment until I started making money.

Other girls it seems get caught up with the dream of modelling and feel the need to splash out hundreds of pounds to ‘photographers’ for portfolios, where they have less than professional quality images, if any, or are made to feel uncomfortable and asked to do nude.

These photographers are dngerous to young girls desparate to get in the industry and give other photographers a bad name, safe modelling website is calling for a new legislation that cracks down on scam photographers putting young girls at risk or making money out of them.

I wish them all the luck in the world as I think scam photographers should be exposed and stop giving the rest of us a bad name!
