Art in the 21st Century has become sensationalist, we are so used to films and tv that it is very hard to shock us. Artists strive to shock and with todays society being seemingly un-phaseable they are trying harder and harder.
Seigmeister carved typography into his own body that was shocking but it was his life, his body to do with what he wanted.
Last Year, the ‘artist’ Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a stray dog tied him up on a rope and starved the dog! This went on for several days, this art installation was based on the agony and suffering of this poor animal. The artist and art lovers watched this dog suffer and without emotion observed this torture labelling it brilliance, until eventually he died.
This shocks me! In a world of animal lovers where celebrities dress their dogs in diamonds it amazes me that people could let this happen!
Even worse! This last exhibition was such a success the Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American have invited Guillermo Vargas Habacuc to repeat disgusting act this year!
Surely Animal protection would stop this, this is irresponsible to show this act of cruelty and praise it as art, what message does it send to the next generation?
I can handle some art, body works intrigues me, the Tate has often showed sensationalist art but this is just cruelty!

This is unbelievable. Thank you for alerting me to this, I will contact the RSPCA. Damon Hirst and his ‘mother and child divided’ I can accept, though it is not my kind of art, but this is just sensationalism. And to ask him to repeat it!
This is disgusting I can’t believe anyone would let this happen
