Police Camera Sale
The Metropolitan Police are holding a kind of car boot sale today where they are selling off a huge collection of film cameras and other camera equipment. These cameras were used over the years to document crime scenes.
Items they are selling off includes camera’s, lenses, light meters and compact cameras. This equipment is in excellent condition and being sold off cheaper than you can get such good quality camera equipment any where. The Met are expecting the collection to bring in over £6,000.
The lots include, for example, two Pentax 67 cameras (with lenses) valued at £100-150 for both, and a Nikon F4 camera, with an MB-21 motor drive, which is expected to fetch £120-180.
Also for sale will be enlargers, such as a Leitz model valued at £50-80.
A case of Bronica accessories includes extension tubes, tele-converters, lens and body caps (£50-80).
The camera sale is on today from 9 am at Dreweatts, Apsley Road, St John’s Place, Apsley Road, Bristol BS8 2ST. Lets hope they remember to take all the images off the memory cards and take the films out or their could be another incident where sensitive police material ends up in the hands of a civillian.
