Photography Magazines

Every now and then I go out and buy myself a few photography magazines, I like to use them to see if their are any news items on new cameras, software and equipment and to keep an eye out for any tips and tricks that will help me take better photographs.

Recently I have been very disapointed, I easily spent about £5 per magazine and all I got was out of date information on what was supposed to be the latest technology, I was shown how to turn a photograph into what looked more like a drawing using the ‘latest’ airbrush techniques and I saw a lot of adverts that contradicted themselves.

I then turned to another magazine equally priced to find almost identical information and articles. What a waste of money!

Today people are counting their pennies and being careful about what they spend their money on, if photography magazines don’t improve their quality soon they in danger of becoming extinct especially when you can Google the latest technology for free and see tips on videos on you tube!

I was appauled to find that the latest magazines had articles about new products and software that I had written about myself weeks earlier. Well at least I have more confidecne now that I know what I’m talking about but if the press wish to compete with the internet era they better take note and up their game.
