Mario Testino

This week I will be looking at the work of renouned celebrity photographer Mario Testino.

Testino famously uses the fashions of the ‘moment’ to create iconic images of his subjects. He has photographed the likes of Princess Dianna, Kate Moss, Madonna etc in high fashion poses and natural ‘caught in the moment’ shots. He has become one of the most saught after fashion photographers of this century and his exhibition and Publication Mario Testino Portraits have appealed to millions all over the world.

In the late 1970s Mario Testino came to London from Peru,and showcased his talent in publications such as British, American, French and Italian Vogue and Vanity Fair. His most recent book captures his work as a portrait photographer and image-maker for the first time, his creative flair and style has transformed A list celebrities into fashion icons.Testinos images have influenced our own opinions towards style and fashion.

Even if you have never heard of Mario Testino you will be aware of his work! His images of the late Princess Dianna are simple and beautiful but some of his images are fun and vibrant like his photographs of Julia Roberts and Madonna’s ray of light promotional picture was at the hand of this creative photographer.
