Pentax K20D

2006 saw the introduction of the Pentax K10D but 2 years later to the delight of serious amateur and professional photographers Pentax brought out the K20D!

The K10D saw more features than any other Pentax SLR before it but now Pentax have released this little beauty! The Pentax K20D, is a stabilized 14.6 megapixel Camera with a CMOS image sensor, dust- and weather-proof seals, high quality image processing,11-point AF, and even more features than most photographers would use!

My first SLR was almost an antique mechanical SLR that I learnt the basics of photography on, taking endless reels of film packed with mistakes with the wrong aperture settings etc but this painstaking style of learning I feel has made me a better photographer as I don’t have to rely on the camera to get a good picture and never use auto.

The Pentax K20D has been described as a fun fresh gadgety camera and the natural upgrade to its predecessor, but I’m not so sure Pentax has retained the oldfashioned camera style but really..? All those gadgets imply this camera is designed for city boys with more money than sense and will probably spend its life in the bottom of a cupboard next to sporting eqipment and games consoles.
