Organise your Photos

Once upon a time we had to organise images with prints and negatives filed or displayed in pristeem condition. Nowadays you think life is much easier with digital images being the medium of choice. This is wrong! Digital images need just as much TLC as their Print predecessor, more so as you don’t have negatives to fall back on!

Don’t bother with poor quality images just delete them straight from the camera, photshop is good but you can’t do miracles. Always back up your work and keep external copies, if your computer dies what would you do about your images?

Always labek and file your images properly file them with good file names and numbers that you can understand. Be as descriptive as you can and have sub folders you may start with the year, then the month, then the name or place of the shoot followed by numbers or more descriptive names, you could use the models name if using models. You may also put, bw if it is black and white or sep for sepia tones. You need to keep your images organised!

Most importantly stay on top of you files don’t put off organising for another day or they’ll never get done and could be deleted if your camera automatically gives images the same number after they have been uploaded.
