Lomography

Lomography is brilliant, a friend at University first introduced me to the wonders of Lomography, I had already been doing some photography for some time but I had never heard of Lomography.
Lomography is fun fresh, colourful and vibrant, using different camera’s such as ‘holga’, ‘fish eye’, ‘action smapler’ and colour splash lomographers look at the world from a slightly different perspective.
Lomographers live by 10 rules, most of which I have adopted myself…
- Take your camera every where!
- Use your camera anytime, day or night!
- Lomography/photography is not an interference in your life but a part of it!
- Shoot from the hip (think if Billy the Kid had a camera instead of a gun!)
- Get close and personal (don’t be afraid of that all important close up)!
- Shoot before you think (just do what comes natural lomography comes from the heart not the head)!
- Speed (take pictures quickly if your not fast enough you may miss it)!
- Rely on Random ( you don’t always need to know what you’ve captured on film)
- Surprise (expect top be surprised when you get your pictures developed)!
- Forget the rules (as quoted on Pirates of the Carribean there more guidelines than actual rules)
Now go out and have fun, its good to use Lomography because photographs don’t have to be serious!
