Film or Digital

film photography
Technology has moved forward so film photography and digital photography are in competition with each other and the debate has monopolised photography forums for the past couple of years. A good photographer can use both film and digital photography and won’t have to rely so much on the added features most digital cameras come with to produce a good image.

I use both film photography and digital although out of convenience it is usually the digital camera I use for most shoots. If you are wondering which medium to buy for a photography enthusuast I would recommend that unless the recipiant is a professional photographer then stick to digital!

Digital is more accessible and you don’t have to pay a lot of money in developing the films. If your buying the camera for someone then eventually they may want to buy a film camera aswell as the qualitiy once you’ve mastered the techniques is much better and you don’t worry about pixelation.

But practice makes perfect and digital cameras come with handy buttons and settings that make it much easier to get a good image aswell as the magic delete button for those not so perfect images! Photography is a wonderful art form but film photogography can be slow to pick up and costly devekopment fees only to find the image isn’t as good as you thought, an enthusiast is more likely to learn and become more passionate if they use a digital camera with instant gratification.

Once someone is good at photography further investment into film photography and developing can often be the case and we are lucky we live in a decade where we have the choice of both.
