Warning there are a lot of Fake Photographers out there!

It has come to my attention that a lot of young girls trying to get into modelling have been taken advantage of, alot of girls are so excited at the prospect of a modelling career they are putting themselves in danger. Alot of modelling forums like net model and model mayhem have no moderators, you can add yourself as a model, photographer, make up artist or stylist and it seems like a good way to meet people in the industry.

From these forums I have noticed many photographers offering to do free portfolio glamour shoots for models, I met one of these so called photographers as a friend contacted him to take advantage of this offer and it turned out he was a 50 year old unemployed man who had purchesed a digital camera a few months before and put up a white sheet as a back drop in his front room. He then carried on by asking my friend to take all her clothes off, it was at this point she called me and I came to pick her up.

I questioned the man in question and he had been trading as a photographer but had no experience, no qualifications, no idea on model release guidelines and usage… basically from my interpretations came across a sad man who wanted to take pictures of pretty girls naked.

Just a warning to all wannabe models that this is going on and make sure you have a chaperone, or go through the correct procedures of doing a shoot. If your unsure ask for other models recomendations or testimonials.
