Today see’s the opening of the Cafe Artistique exhibition it is free and everyone is welcome so no need to book, it hopes to turn into more of a discussion than an exhibition and promotes interaction rather than lectures assosciated with art.

Patrick Henry is these to open the day with a brief summary of the importance and development of contemporary photography galleries over the past 3 - 4 decades. Dr Derek Horton (Artist/writer) will also be present to express his thoughts about photography as contemporary art practice and open the debate over whether it holds medium-specific value in comparison to other more traditional art forms. The discussion is opened by the guest speakers then the debate is to be opened up to the audience thus exploring other ideas around photography and its place in the world of art.

Any one who has strong views on this should get down and if you just want more information and hear the debate, pros and cons as photography as a recognised art form should get down as well.
