Bill Henson

The blog that was written the other day has certainly caused a few arguments from the practical photography bloggers, although I can see how children are impressionable I don’t think at 12 they are so innocent they cannot look at a genuine piece of art without running out and having sex!
At 12 most children have seen more than me at that age and they definately get up to much worse in some depirived (and affluent) areas of the world.
I think shocking images such as these will open their minds to what it means to speak through photography, and challenge other peoples opinions, it may even show them how to respect their own bodies.
Children don’t need to be wrapped up in cotton wool and it is naive to do so let them study people like Bill Henson rather than boring artists who may aswell just paint by numbers.
