Practical Photography

My friend is nearly 6 months pregnant at the moment with her second child, the first one was an unexpected blessing but my friend is loving every minute of being pregnant and preparing for baby number 2.

So much so that she has asked me to come and do some photography for her baby shower! Well she’s a good friend and I take my camera everywhere with me anyway but this is definatley a first.

I’ve been thinking about it more and more and her logic makes sense. As this was a planned pregnancy she knew very early that she was pregnant and has been recording everything, she has the images of the scans etc and I know I’ll be brought in to take plenty of pictures of her and the baby and her other little girl who is nearly 4. So why not take photos of the baby shower aswell.

Baby showers are a great way to celebrate a baby coming into the world, and unlike the Christening the Mother can have a bit more fun as she does not have to worry about waking a sleeping baby etc. My friend is going all out for her baby shower getting cake, balloons and games where we have a doll which we pass round and do mini forfeits with, a bit like drinking games but as Mummy is tea total a bit milder.

I can’t wait to go, its great to do something different and I’m looking forward to recording this in photographs as my friend celebrates being pregnant.
